Jan 9: Lightning 3 - Kings 2 ⚡️OT

The Lightning earned their 20th win of the season and improved to 20-17-5 overall and 12-5-3 on home ice. They improved to 4-5-0 in overtime this season after going winless in their first four games decided in overtime. Tampa Bay overcame a two-goal deficit in the third period, marking their first third-period, multi-goal comeback of the season.

Jon Cooper recorded his 500th career win and became the 29th coach in NHL history to reach the mark. Cooper required the third fewest games to reach 500 NHL wins among all head coaches in NHL history and is the fastest to do so with only one franchise.


Jan 11: Lightning 4 - Devils 3⚡️OT

The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-3 in overtime on Thursday night at AMALIE Arena for their 21st win of the season. Tampa Bay’s defense has combined for 83 assists this season – the third most among all teams behind Vancouver (101) and Colorado (90), entering play on Thursday.

Jon Cooper won his 501st NHL game and passed Toe Blake for sole possession of the fifth-most wins with a single franchise in NHL history.


Jan 13: Lightning 5 - Ducks 1 ⚡️

The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Anaheim Ducks 5-1 on Saturday night at AMALIE Arena, winning their 3rd consecutive game. The Lightning defense has combined for eight goals over the last seven games. Tampa Bay’s power play went 3-3 on Saturday night after an 0-9 stretch over their last three games.

Nikita Kucherov tallied three assists, all coming on the power play, bringing his point total to a league-leading 72 points. With his second assist of the night on Steven Stamkos’ first goal, Kucherov recorded his 800th career point and became the fourth player in franchise history to reach the mark (also: Steven Stamkos, Martin St. Louis and Vincent Lecavalier)
